Louisiana State Gumbo cook-off

@ Knights of Columbus Grand Knights Day meeting.

 

 

The team went to Lafayette Saturday night and started cooking at 7:30 AM.

 

Cook-off team was

Steve Fradella (Left)
Doug Viosca (Right)
John LaVanway (taking picutres)

 

You’ll see in the picture we set up our equipment right next to the statue of Mary, Queen of Peace.

Team Captain Steve Fradella felt our product was among the best gumbo he has made … probably the divine influence!

 

Judging was at 11:00 AM and all of the cooked gumbo was served during the meeting to the attending KC members mostly Grand Knights.

 

While our team (Steve Fradella and Doug Viosca are pictured; John LaVanway is behind the camera) did not win at State, we enjoyed many sincere compliments for the fine gumbo.

Many thanks to Mike Cradeur for lending us his burner and equipment, which made the job a lot easier. Thanks to all our Brother Knights and their spouses for their support and encouragement! Next year!
